Dear One Tree Hill Writers,

Posted by: Rowena in ,

You know, I missed you guys terribly during the writer's strike and I wanted nothing more than for you guys to come back and do what you guys do best...writing.

But then my favorite shows started coming back on and I haven't been really impressed lately.

Last week, I enjoyed the whole deeper thinking episode. I enjoyed seeing Haley and Nathan working on their marriage, I rejoiced in Brooke getting her baby and I really enjoyed seeing Deb back on the show as Nanny Deb, gotta love Mama Deb minus all the drugs, haha.

Things I didn't care about? Lucas and Peyton's talk about the aborted wedding, Dan being on the show period.

I don't know what's going through your minds but the main thing that I could not stand about last week's episode and then last night's episode was the whole insinuations surrounding Brooke and Lucas. What the bleeping hell was that about? Don't get me wrong, I love me some Brooke. I think she is frickin' awesome and I think that she would make a fantastic mother once she gets the hang of juggling her career and being a mother but does she need to lean on Lucas for all of this? Does she need to be falling asleep in Lucas' arms at his house?

WHAT THE EFF?

I swear, if you go down that road again I will boycott this effing show. I will effing stop watching it, I will vote against shutting that shit down so you better knock that shit off because there is no Lucas without Peyton. They are the driving force behind this show and I swear if you throw Brooke back into Lucas' life LIKE THAT, devastating Peyton yet again, I will buy those damn voo doo dolls that I've been threatening to buy and I will buy all the needles in the world and get the pokin' ....

Just...say it aint so! NO BROOKE AND LUCAS and will you for the life of me just make Lucas realize where his heart has always belonged.

With Peyton.

And for the love of Pete [ insert Daphne's crush at work's name here ], give Peyton a happy ending already.

Fuck.

Sincerely,
Wena

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Posted by: Isabel in , ,

After a devastating break-up with his girlfriend, TV sitcom star Sarah Marshall, a heartbroken and depressed Peter heads to Hawaii for a little vacation to try his best to forget every detail of his relationship. But love laughs at Peter, because Sarah is vacationing in the same exclusive resort as Peter, along with her new boyfriend.

Joey and I thought this movie was funny. I thought the guy who played Peter is a cutie. I mean, he's not hot but he's good looking in that average joe type way. Some of the things he did the movie was just cute.

After a 5 year relationship, Sarah dumps Peter. Which he doesn't take too well. He's having a hard time getting over here. Their pictures are plastered all over their apartment. He can't even escape Sarah at work. She's the star of a crime drama ala CSI. Peter was the guy who scored music for the episodes. After a little episode at work (Peter throwing a chair at Sarah's face on screen) he decides to take his vacation.

Of course who does he run into while in Hawaii? Sarah and her new rock star boyfriend. Of course it looks weird. Peter showing up at the same place Sarah is at. He tells her he is not stalking her. Which she doesn't really believe. He even shows up at the same restaurant, sitting at a table across from Sarah and her new man.

Peter befriends one of the hotel staff, Rachel. He starts spending time with her and he starts to get over Sarah. When Sarah realizes Peter is moving on, she gets jealous and tries to win Peter back. Who will Peter choose?

Joey and I cracked up over the Dracula scene. Peter and Rachel are at a bar. He tells Rachel how he's writing a rock opera of Dracula.. but with puppets. Rachel arranges Peter to sing his song in front of everyone. Peter looks really nervous but sings his song he does. In the Count Dracula voice. It was just.. I don't know.. funny. Then later Peter makes his dream a reality.

Oh and this movie has male frontal nudity. I'm not bothered by it but some people in the theater were. Is this a new trend? Flashing male frontal? My hubby says you should only see male frontal in porn. Meh. lol. TMI? Sorry.

Anyways.. funny movie.

Dead Silence

Posted by: Mollie in , ,

Dead Silence is a chilling tale which focuses on widower Jamie Ashen who returns to his hometown of Raven’s Fair to unearth clues about the mysterious and brutal murder of his wife . He has a ventriloquist doll with him that was left on his front door before he found his wife dead.

As the film continues, Jamie starts to unravel a deep secret about the town's old ventriloquist performer named Mary Shaw, who's ghost story is used to scare children.

Mary Shaw, was a ventriloquist who went mad. She was accused of murdering a young boy named Michael Ashen and was hunted down by the vengeful townspeople who cut out her tongue and killed her.

As the story continues, the grieving widower finally uncovers the shocking truth behind the curse that has plagued Ravens Fair for as far back as he can remember.

The other day I was in the mood for a scary movie. Dead Silence was available through HBO On Demand so I figured why not?! I remember when this came out , I thought it looked kind of stupid. But I went ahead and gave it a go!

Dead Silence comes from the creators of the Saw franchise so, immediately I was a little skeptical. However, I have to say that this was a genuinely creepy ghost story. I think that is why I liked it because it's just that, a ghost story. It's not gratuitous blood and gore it's an old school ghost story, stemming from an old children's rhyme:

Beware the stare of Mary Shaw
She had no children, only dolls
And if you see her in your dream
Be sure you never, ever scream
Or she'll rip your tongue out at the seam.

Not only is the ghost story creepy, the dolls in the movie are sinister and unnerving. I had an inkling of how the ending would play out and I turned out to be right, but it wasn't a "Duh, you could've seen it coming a mile away" ending.

I really liked the look of the movie as well, it was very dark (shocker) but, everything was dark and dingy except for Jamie's red car, which stood out in stark contrast to the dark dreary surroundings, and the creepy-creeperson ventriloquist doll, Billy.

I wasn't familiar with Ryan Kwanten the actor portraying the film's main character, Jamie. But he was pretty dang cute! ;)

Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. It was one of the better scary movies I've seen in awhile!

I'm giving it a B-.

You can read the episode recap here.

So Craig went home. This guy didn't even know his percentages!! Eek. Totally not executive chef material. LOL

The girls are really beating the guys so far. Woot. But looking at next week's preview - looks like all that bitterness between them could be their downfall.

Charlie Wilson's War, too.

Lars and the Real Girl

Posted by: Isabel in ,

Lars Lindstrom is a loveable introvert whose emotional baggage has kept him from fully embracing life. After years of what is almost solitude, he invites Bianca, a friend he met on the internet to visit him. He introduces Bianca to his brother Gus and his wife Karen and they are stunned. They don't know what to say to Lars or Bianca--because she is a life-size doll, not a real person and he is treating her as though she is alive. They consult the family doctor Dagmar who explains this is a delusion he's created--for what reason she doesn't yet know but they should all go along with it. What follows is an emotional journey for Lars and the people around him.

When I first saw the commercials, I thought this was be comedy. And it is labeled as one. However after watching it, I would say it's more drama. There are funny parts in it though.

So we have Lars, this really shy guy. He doesn't do much. Just works and then stays in the garage where he lives. It's on his brother and sister in law's property. His sister in law is constantly trying to get him to open up.

One day he shows up at their porch saying he wants to introduce them to his girlfriend, Bianca. Turns out she's a sex doll. Gus and Karen just kind of sit there staring at Bianca not knowing what to say. Lars explains Bianca is from Brazil and she lost all her clothes. Her parents died when she was young and she's wheel chaired bound. Lars asks if Bianca can stay in the house with them. He doesn't feel it's right they share a room.

The next day they take Bianca to the doctor to make she's well. While Bianca is receiving treatment, the doctor talks to Lars. The doctor is also a shrink. She tells Lars Bianca is sick and she should visit every week. So while she's treating Bianca, she's also treating Lars. The doctor later tells Karen and Gus that there is nothing wrong with Lars. Bianca was created so that Lars could work through a problem, possibly his shyness. She advises them to go along with it. They agree.

The rest of the movie shows the town accepting Bianca. She's even on the school board and reads to children. As Lars gets more invovled and leaves his shell, the sicker Bianca becomes.

I enjoyed watching this movie. I thought it was cute. If you get a chance watch this movie. Here are two clips from two parts I

I don't know, him chucking the flower and then walking/running away made me laugh.

This part I found funny and sweet. Funny because Margo was taking dude's action figures. And then he hung her bear as revenge. Which is something I can see us doing at work. Sweet because Lars brought the bear back to life.

I give this movie a B.

America's Next Top Model

Ok, yesterday's episode, I'm not beating around the bush, Stacy Ann went home.

WTF is that? Exactly!

There was some tension as Fatima, who is a refugee, LOST her travel documents and waited until the last minute to say anything. All the judges thought this was foolish, but they still put her through to ROME anyway. She didn't even have a photo as she wasn't at the photo shoot.

Every girl in past episodes (that I've seen) that has missed a photo shoot has gone home. Me thinks Fatima is getting preferential treatment.

One Tree Hill: Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace.

Posted by: Rowena in ,

*sigh*

I know that I need to practice that patience that Peyton talked about in this episode but it's so hard for me to do that when Lucas is completely dismissive of his feelings for her. I'm starting to wonder if maybe he really doesn't love her like that anymore, I'm starting to wonder if they're trying to move Lucas' character on to someone new to show that you can find true love again. I don't know if I'm just retarded for thinking that but I can't help it. We see Peyton dealing with her feelings for Lucas but Lucas is dealing with his feelings with Lindsay..Peyton is the farthest from his mind right now. Does he feel bad because he hurt Lindsay, deep down inside does he want to be with Peyton, does Peyton have his heart still because he wrote another book about HER. I don't care how many times he says otherwise, that book about the Comet was about her. He was telling everyone, their story. She came back to him and he knew that she would. He's just coming to grips with the fact that his heart does and always has belonged to Peyton Sawyer.

Atleast that's what I'm going to keep telling myself because they HAVE to be together...for real and forever this time.

None of this, wishy washy crap either, the whole deal, the whole shebang..that's what they need to be.

FOR real.

This week, my heart went out to Brooke because I think Brooke would be a wonderful Mother and it just sucks that even from far away, Bitchtoria can still find ways to ruin Brooke's life. Like she didn't do enough when Brooke was growing up, she just keeps on ruining the hard work Brooke's put forth and making things difficult for her but I know that Brooke will get over this bump and she'll be stronger for it. She's the character on the show that I admire the most. Although, I didn't like the assumptions the lady was making about Brooke's feelings for Lucas...do you guys still think they're there? I mean, Sophia Bush said in an interview that she thinks Brooke and Lucas are truly over and I seriously hope she was right in that statement because I can't take another Brooke/Lucas/Peyton love triangle.

I'm still going to stand behind my Dan theory. I still think that he hired Carrie to ruin Nathan and Haley's marriage and to do the whole kidnapping thing to get in good with Jamie. I think all of that was Dan's doing so that he could save the day and be brought back into the fold...but when Lucas and then Nathan came out of the house with their fists flying in Dan's direction, I sure was laughing my ass off. That was funny.

I'm glad to see that Nathan and Haley are working on their marriage. They've been married for awhile and it's good to see a relationship after the honeymoon is over...I love that they're still very much in love with each other even though they're fighting right now. I'm loving that these two are still truckin' along with each other by their sides, it's one of my favorite things about this show. I loved the walk down memory lane with Nathan, I loved Haley's things that she loved about Nathan and like their shrink, I think they're going to be just fine and I can't wait to see happier days with these two...they're so in need of those happy days because they sure have been through the wringer.

I can't wait to see next week's show, I'm so flippin' excited that One Tree Hill is back and sorry Levi, but I won't be at FHE anymore until I either get DVR or OTH moves to another night...nothing gets between me and my Leyton love angst!

What did you guys think about tonight's show?

Until next week guys...

Hi, my name is Rowena and I love blogging, reading and spreadsheets and I'M A DORK! =P

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!

Corny. Cute. Cuddly.

This movie had me rollin' ...I wanted to watch this movie ever since Izzy reviewed it here. I seriously couldn't wait to watch it because these are the corny movies that I absolutely love. These are MY kind of movies, the feel good, underdog takes the evil queen down and all that Disney goodness.

This modern twist on Snow White was a laugh a minute, corny sigh out loud kind of movie. It was the kind of movie that I'd watch when I need to laugh, want to feel good and just because I want to watch it again kind of movie.

Amanda Bynes was a great "Snow" White and Matt Long was a great Prince Charming, the 7 Dorks were too frickin' funny, cute and all things wonderful. They made this movie! It was really cute and I can't say enough good things about this movie.

Check it out, I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too. It's funny like She's the Man only Matt Long is cute but he's no Channing Tatum.

YUM!

Movie Reviews: In the Land of Women

Posted by: Rowena in , , , ,

Starring: Adam Brody, Meg Ryan, Kristen Stewart
Rating: PG-13
Grade: B

For as long as he could remember, Carter Webb had been falling in love with women. And for as long as he could remember, he̢۪d been searching for the right one. He found everything he was looking for in Sophia and for a little while he was happy. Unfortunately, it wasn̢۪t meant to be. When Carter is dumped by Sophia in a North Hollywood coffee shop, he sees his entire life flash before his eyes. Heartbroken and depressed, Carter escapes Los Angeles, heading across the country to suburban Michigan to care for his ailing grandmother. An eccentric and complicated personality, Grandma offers Carter a uniquely different perspective on life and especially death. Soon after his arrival, Carter stumbles into the lives of the family living directly across the street, Sarah Hardwicke, the mother of two daughters: Paige, a precocious, effervescent eleven-year-old and her older sister Lucy, an angst ridden teenager. While Sarah faces her own personal crisis, Lucy wrestles with the fears that define her. Through his relationships with these women, as well as his grandmother, Carter begins to discover that what felt like the end was really only just the beginning of his adventure.

I heart Adam Brody.

Seriously. I have loved that boy since he played Seth Cohen on The O.C. and truth be told, he was the only reason I watched that show for so long. There's just something about Adam's goofiness and lanky good looks that totally gets me. I have been wanting to watch this movie for a long time and so I netflixed it. When it came in, I was giddy to get it watched and I totally did. The movie is about Carter Webb trying to fix his life. He's all about women, he's always falling in love with women and when he gets dumped by his girlfriend, Sofia he decides that he's had enough of L.A. so he flies to Ann Arbor, MI to stay with his crazy grandma who swears she's gonna die pretty soon and holy hell that woman IS crazy.

This movie was good. It was one of those movies that you won't expect to like but you end up really liking it. It's not one of those movies that you just know is going to be good, it's the movie that surprises you and you'll totally fall in love with Adam Brody. He played this character really well and you can see a bit of his own personality shine through this character and I really dig that about him.

Meg Ryan's character was really cool, she was a cool Mom and I felt for her and her family. The whole thing with her husband and then the whole thing with her illness made me sad for her and I just really enjoyed getting to know Sarah Hardwicke and her family.

Kristen Stewart, I don't think she's all that...I know this is the chick that's going to be playing Bella Swan in Twilight: The Movie but as much as I enjoyed this movie, I didn't get excited to see Kristen Stewart as Bella, she just doesn't do anything for me.

Blah.

But I loved the storyline, I loved the characters and I really just liked this movie.

Great stuff, check it out!

Movie Reviews: The Jane Austen Book Club.

Posted by: Rowena in , , , ,

Starring: Kathy Baker, Maria Bello, Marc Blucas, Emily Blunt, Amy Brenneman, Hugh Dancy, Maggie Grace, Jimmy Smits, Kevin Zegers and Lynn Redgrave
Rating: PG-13
Grade: B

In modern-day California, six women in a book club find their lives and romances reflected in the six novels of English author Jane Austen.

After I watched Becoming Jane, I thought I'd wrap up my love of Jane Austen (newfound though it was) by watching this movie and once again, I really enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed the cast of characters and I thought that Hugh Dancy was adorable and Allegra (isn't that a women's pill or something?) was HOT! I thought she was gorgeous, I don't like girls like that but if I did, she would be plastered to my desktop!

I think I would have enjoyed the movie a lot more if I would have read the books beforehand but since I didn't, there were some things that I didn't get. But that didn't ruin the movie for me at all, I think that even though you haven't read the books, you'd still be able to enjoy the individual storylines and the individual characters.

For me, I really loved Hugh Dancy and his love interest (I forgot her name, it's been two days, sorry) ...I thought that he was just too darned cute, the dog lady was annoying in her need to set all of the men she comes across with herself and it annoyed me that she wouldn't read his damn books, she didn't even try, it got on my nerves but in the end, I enjoyed it.

Bernadette was a sweet lady, the way she put the whole book club together was cool and so cute. Ugh, frickin' Prudie got on my hot damn nerves, that little cradle robber...the way that she was with her husband was so uncalled for at times but I still enjoyed her storyline...at the end.

Allegra and her parents storyline was cute as well, this whole movie was just too cute! I loved watching their discussions on each of the books, it was funny to see the different opinions each of them had and to see each of them go from hating each other or being indifferent with each other to really loving each other at the end. The way they all came together to support Sylvia with the Library Dinner was just too cute.

Dude, Marc Blucas was frickin' HOT in this movie..I need to watch more movies with him in it. This was a pleasant movie to watch with your sisters or your book club friends, such a cute movie...I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Movie Reviews: Becoming Jane.

Posted by: Rowena in , , , ,

Starring: Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy
Rating: PG-13
Grade: B

The year is 1795 and young Jane Austen is a feisty 20-year-old and emerging writer who already sees a world beyond class and commerce, beyond pride and prejudice, and dreams of doing what was then nearly unthinkable - marrying for love. Naturally, her parents are searching for a wealthy, well-appointed husband to assure their daughter's future social standing. They are eyeing Mr. Wisley, nephew to the very formidable, not to mention very rich, local aristocrat Lady Gresham, as a prospective match. But when Jane meets the roguish and decidedly non-aristocratic Tom Lefroy, sparks soon fly along with the sharp repartee. His intellect and arrogance raise her ire - then knock her head over heels. Now, the couple, whose flirtation flies in the face of the sense and sensibility of the age, is faced with a terrible dilemma. If they attempt to marry, they will risk everything that matters - family, friends and fortune.

On Friday when I was home sick from work, I watched a bunch of movies. This was one of them. I have wanted to see this movie for quite some time and so I sat down and watched this on my laptop.

I really enjoyed it.

I know that this movie got flack from some people because nobody was really certain of why Jane stayed single or whatever but meh, I didn't care. I really enjoyed this movie. I really enjoyed Jane's relationship with Tom. And who knew that James McAvoy was such a cutie patootie.

He's a really good historical hero. I was digging him, I know that Ames didn't care for Anne's neck but it didn't bother me in the least and I was looking at it too. haha. I thought this book was good and though I can't remember if I've ever read any of her books, I really want to read her books now.

I liked this peek into Jane's life and I understood that at the end, she had to do what she had to do. She's a better person than me because had I been given the same choice, I would have chose the other choice. I was kind of pissed that he got to live out his life and have children and all that where Jane didn't. But then again, when Tom called his daughter's name, I was like, "Awwwwwww, he still hearts her."

Gotta love this movie, I did. You should definitely check this out if you're a JA fan and even if you're not, you should check this out.

It was good.

Resident Evils

Posted by: ~ames~ in , , , ,

A while back, Rowena did a review on Will Smith's I am Legend. And Mollie commented on how much better the Resident Evil trilogy is. LOL So I took it upon myself to watch all 3 movies today - because I'm a loser with nothing better to do. Just kidding - I did get other stuff done, i.e. interacted with humans, took out the garbage...you know. So its not like I sat on the couch all day, although my mom will beg to differ.

So first Resident Evil - I really enjoyed it! As soon as it was done, I had my little bro (who had been hounding me for a while to see these) pop the second movie in.
Was I ever in for a surprise watching Resident Evil: Apocalypse! Oded Fehr, hottie extraordinaire (from the Mummy) was in it! LOL Seriously, it doesn't take much to impress me. At the end, I was like, Ok, I'm still digging it.
So real life intruded for a bit - also the fact that I didn't have Resident Evil: Extinction on hand. So while I was helping with supper, I looked up the trailer, because I remember seeing it, but thinking, Meh. So yeah, after having watched the first two, I was really looking forward to Extinction.

In the end? I was a little bit disappointed with Extinction - but I still found it enjoyable. I hated that hottie Oded kicked the bucket, but at least he went out in style! LOL

If you like zombie movies, and you haven't seen these, go check them out. They're good times. :P

Sweeny Todd

Posted by: Isabel in , , ,

Benjamin Barker, a man unjustly sent to prison by a lecherous judge, vows revenge, not only for that cruel punishment, but for the devastating consequences of what happened to his wife and daughter. When he returns to reopen his barber shop, Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street who "shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again."

Ames: Was Sweeney Todd what you expected?

Izzy: Yes and No. Yes, cause I knew the story more or less. No because the blood was just... not gory, but there was a lot. Yes I knew there would be blood.. but I guess.. the way how to explain it. A little over the top. Does that make sense?

What about you?

Ames: LOL It makes sense. For me, I didn't know the story but I was expecting the gore. I'm a big fan of Tim Burton, so I knew I was in for a bloodfest. :P I'm so morbid.

What did you think of Johnny Depp's singing? Did you like the songs?

Izzy: I thought Johnny Depp was pretty good. Didn't know he could sing. My favorite song I would have to say is Joanna, then Worst Pies in London.

Is it me, or did Joanna look alot like Christina Ricci in Sleepy Hallow?

Ames: LOL I was surprised too at Johnny's singing - but I also realized he was in a musical before, that I never saw. It was called Cry Baby - he was really young. I liked Worst Pies in London and the opening song, There's a hole in the world and the people that inhabit it are full of shit..or something like that. That's a funny song. :P

I was going to mention Joanna. And yes, she does look like Christina Ricci. But kind of odd looking too. Tim Burton is good at finding eccentric looking characters.

Ok, did you know it was going to end the way it did? I didn't! It kind of mad me sad.

Izzy: Oh yeah! I remember Cry Baby but I didn't think it was a mucial. lol. I've never seen that one.

That one song.. by the sea... I like how Johnny depp is just sitting there sulking while homegirl is fantazing about their life together. ha ha.

Yeah I did. Once they started dancing, I was just waiting.. waiting for something. And then I was like.. there it is. But it was kind of sad.

Ames: I wasn't sad he threw the chick in the fire. She was not so nice in the end.

I liked that song too, when Johnny's a lump on a log while she's fantasizing about the kind of life they could lead.

What happened to his daughter though? Did she escape with her sailor boy? That was never clarified. You know?

Izzy: Oh now, I wasn't sad about that. Just sad he killed his wife. Although, throwing the other chick in the fire.. I thought he would slit her throat.

Ha ha. I love the expressions on his face and then he looks all "ewww" When he has to kiss her. LOL!

I'm thinking they did escape and had a HEA. It's not revealed but that's what I beleive.

Have you seen the musical? Does the movie make you want to see the musical?

Ames: I don't think so. LOL Have you seen the musical? Would you want to see it?
Isn't Alan Rickman (the Judge) so good at playing villains? He's Severus Snape and he was the Sheriff in the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie. He's such a baddie. Pretty women...LOL

What did you think of Helena Bonham Carter? Her voice was a little too high pitched for my liking, but I felt like she suited the role very well.

Izzy: No, I haven't seen the musical. It is coming to town this summer. I wouldn't mind watching it though. Just to see how they do some of the stuff on stage. Mainly, the killings. Morbid I know.

I love Alan Rickman. I think he's kind of sexy. LOL! He is what made me have a little thing for snape. I'm sick I know. He did surprise me with this voice. I like that song too, Pretty Women. What I don't get, is how could the Judge not recognize Sweeney Todd and the Borat character did? Makes no sense. lol.

Helena Bonham Carter, her voice was ok. Not great but it was decent. I thought she was perfect for the role. What did you think of here withholding the information about Sweeney Todd's wife? I get she was in love with him but in a way she was no different than the Judge.

Ames: Oh man, I thought I was the only one! LOL Good to know we're both sick. hehe

As for her letting Sweeney think his wife was dead - ugh, you're right in saying she's no better than the Judge. BUT - did you see his wife? LMAO So maybe she did him a favor? I'm awful, I know. :P

Izzy: Yeah. I mean.. Hmm,

I understand she might have been looking out for him. Cause his wife was... a sandwich short of a picnic basket BUT... I think she was more thinking of herself. I think she withheld the info more for her than trying to protect him. You know what I mean? Cause who is to say once she realized who Sweeney was, the wife might have come back to her senses. And at least Sweeney would have had the choice to let his wife go or be with Ms. Lovett.

Ames: Oh yeah, Mrs. Lovett didn't tell him for her own purposes. She did it for herself! LOL

Izzy: yeah she did.

You know what bothered me most about the movie. Was when he killed Borat, ( i forget his character's name.) The way his body just spazzed out and the blood gushing out. I was all... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Lol.

What did you think of Johnny Depp's voice?
So.. would recommend the movie to other people?

Ames: I laugh at gory scenes, so when he killed Borat, it didn't bother me. LOL I forget that character's name...his fake name started with a P and it was Italian. But the little boy slitting Johnny's throat-that kind of bothered me. Just cuz it was a little kid.

I liked Johnny's voice. As long as his voice wasn't high pitched, I knew I would be happy. But it wasn't as wonderful as some people led me to believe.

I would recommend this movie to people I know very well and could judge their tastes...or any fan of Tim Burtons.

Izzy: See and the little boy killing Johnny didn't bother me. I don't know why. But my sister is all, "He totally lied to HBC. He said no one would ever harm her and look what happened!" I told her at least he avenged her. lol. She also said, "who in their right mind thought to make this into a musical." lol

I liked Johnny's voice too. Better than I expected.

I would recommend this movie to people who I think would enjoy it. Those who like musicals and Tim Burton. If you're squeamish about blood.. probably want to stay away. Just listen to the soundtrack.

Which... damn, I don't have. I do have: Worst Pies in London, Poor Thing, Johanna, The Johanna with Anthony, Johnny Depp and the hag singing and Not While I'm around. But I want Pretty Women too and now By the Sea is growing on me. Maybe I should buy the thing.

Ames: I don't think I'll buy the soundtrack. I have to really love a movie to buy the soundtrack. And plus, that's what youtube is for!

So since we're on the topic of youtube, here are some videos:

Posted by: Rowena in ,

With all the talk about the new Beverly Hills 90210 making the gossip rounds, it got me thinking about shows that I used to love just as much as I used to love 90210. There are plenty of shows that I remember watching and loving as a youngun'...so many shows to choose from and I totally miss a whole lot of them. I'm going to attempt to remember my top 10 missed favorite shows from back in the day, feel free to do this on your own blog or list them here in the comments, it's always nice to remember isn't it?

On with my list...

1. Beverly Hills 90210. I remember staying up late on Thursday nights (when it first came on) to see the latest round of drama that went down at West Beverly High. I remember all of the different characters and I most remember my eternal love for Dylan McKay. LOL! I used to love me some Dylan McKay and oh gosh, I remember for Christmas one year, I got 2 ginormous posters, one of the entire cast at the beach during summer (it was the one where they were holding that surfboard) and then one of Dylan McKay on his beloved motorcycle...*sigh* Those were the days.

I remember cheering on Brandon and Andrea and wishing I knew where the heck The Peach Pit was. I remember how much I wanted Dylan to cheat on Brenda when she was in Paris with Kelly and I totally remember the scene when Brenda comes back from Paris (after her little fling with Superman Dean Cain) and Dylan and Kelly tell her about what happened between them over the summer. Then I remember the summer before their senior year and I remember when David Silver was a geek and then turned all uber cute on us...gosh, does anyone remember and miss this show as much as I do? Is anyone going to watch the new 90210? They've already cast Dylan...will he be as cool? I don't think so...

2. FRIENDS. This will always be that show that I will miss seeing new episodes of. It's one of those shows that you can watch over and over again and never get sick of. All 6 of the friends were always so funny, in their own ways and they each brought something to the show that just meshed well with everything. I miss seeing Joey make a fool of himself and I miss hearing Phoebe's retarded songs and Rachel's airheadedness and not to mention Monica and Chandler are their funny moments and then you can't forget about Ross and his salmon colored shirt....haha, so many memories with this show, I only wish there were more memories to add to the pile...this sure was one of the goods, don't you think?

3. Felicity. I watched this show from the very first episode to the very last one. I cheered Felicity on from big hair days to bad hair days to no hair days. LOL. I was such a big Felicity and Noel fan that I booed Ben's interference, even though he was the reason Felicity was at that college and put into Noel's line of vision. I hated Hannah with a passion and wanted to learn the piano to be BETTER than her...and I just wanted those two (Felicity and Noel) to always end up together. They were each other's lobsters. haha. I even remember Eli, remember how hot Eli was? How about the Pink Power Ranger, Julie? I hated her..when she got with Ben, I wanted to slap her silly and cut her hair in her sleep and even after they broke up, I didn't like her...I hated her. I still do, as a matter of fact. And how can I forget to mention Javier? Javier was the cutest man in the world and oh so funny...gosh I miss this show!

4. Alias. I remember back in the day when all me and Grace would talk about besides the books we were reading was what was happening on Alias. We were such huge Michael Vartan fans (and still are, VARTON HO'S FOREVER BABY! haha) and even bigger Michael Vaughn vans. We were always pulling for Sydney and Vaughn to somehow find a way to be together and through all of the exploding buildings and fighthing of the bad guys, the Alias producers never failed to entertain the socks right off of us. There would be times when our emails would be out of this world long, just so that we can gush more about our beloved Vaughn...man, was I sad to see this one go. Even if I stopped watching it partway through that last season or the last couple of seasons, right now, I'm missing my Vaughn. I remember when I needed a Vaughn fix every hot damn week in order to make it through the week...haha. Oh good times, good times.

5. Once and Again. Does anyone remember this show? It was about Rick Sammler and Lily Manning getting together after both of their divorces and with kids of their own. Trying to date again after the divorce and trying to get your kids to get along. It starred Billy Campbell and Sela Ward with Evan Rachel Wood as Billy's daughter and Shane West as his son? Do you guys remember this show? My sisters and I used to watch this show ALL.THE.TIME. Every week, we were planted right in front of the T.V. watching what drama this week would bring in the Manning and Sammler's household. I remember thinking that Eli was so effing hot and him and Jessie (Evan Rachel Wood) seem to have done well for themselves after the show's demise...I wonder what's going on with Grace (ohh I hated her in this show) and Zoe...I haven't heard of them after the show came to an end..whatever happened to them? Gosh this show was another good one. I miss it!

Alright, ladies let's see those lists...what shows do you miss the most and wish were still on?

America's Next Top Model

Is anyone else watching America's Next Top Model this season? Last night's show kind of surprised me. I did not expect Claire to be sent home. But hopefully Lauren can improve and become less "frankensteiny." Those aren't my words, but the words of one of the judges.

Anyway, two funny things happened in this episode. First, the girls were posing on a plastic sheet in water (see above picture). Well Claire wanted to slide onto the plastic and instead did a face dive. She konked her face and wrenched her neck. Crazy girl - you're not going to bounce on plastic!

Second funny thing - Nigel said Dominic's hair was chanelling There's Something About Mary. And it was!! Her hair was sticking straight up at one point! LOL She looked crazy.

Hell's Kitchen

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!!

So the fourth season of Hell's Kitchen started yesterday. Woot. I became addicted to this show because of my papa. You can read the recap HERE.

For the first time ever, each team was lead by a team captain...but yeah, the chosen captains (decided upon by the whole team) did such a bad job that anyone could have done better than them. Bobby, he called himself the Black Gordon Ramsey, tanked! He calls himself a general? No way, he stood behind his team and refused to help them out.

In the end, stay at home dad Dominic who was sent home first. His cluelessness in the kitchen, standing in place, holding scallops in the palm of his hand - well no wonder!

I love this show. hehe

Are you going to watch this season?
