Here’s a brief update on all the shows I’m watching. And there are a few. LOL

Monday

Gossip Girl: When the previous season ended, Serena was seeing Nate but had kissed Dan. Then she jetted off to Paris with a broken-hearted Blair, who didn’t make it in time to declare her love to Chuck (who was stabbed). So now this season, Dan thought he was Georgina’s baby daddy but turns out he wasn’t. Yay. And he’s back with Vanessa. But she’s uber jealous of that kiss with Serena and doesn’t think Dan’s over her. And Vanessa just got humiliated when Nate’s new chick (who’s brother is in jail and hates Serena, so she’s trying to set her up to fail) claimed Vanessa emailed Serena’s professor a scandalous proposal (sex for grades basically). Blair chased off Chuck’s Eastern European “nurse” and now they’re again in a contest of wills. Jenny has been thankfully absent. But I saw in the preview she’s back next week. Boo.

Hoarders:
This is the A&E series. TLC also has a series but it’s a bit different. This is the original series and I like watching it because it motivates me to clean up afterwards. LOL I hate when people have dead animals among all their junk though. Boo.

Tuesday

Glee: I don’t know about you guys, but I’m kind of underwhelmed this season so far. I continue to love Sue. I need more Brittany and Santana! More Puck!
No Ordinary Family: This is a new show, with the 3rd episode airing this week. I think it’s an interesting concept and there is some humour in there. I will continue to watch it to see how it goes.

Wednesday

Hell’s Kitchen: Sabrina needs to go. Like yesterday.
America’s Next Top Model: I don’t know why I keep watching this show. My ultimate guiltiest pleasure.

Hellcats: The new cheerleading drama on the CW, it’s not horrible. :P

LA Ink: I miss all the drama around hiring a new shop manager. All the drama now is on Cory working at a different shop and Aubrey showing up there. Meh.

Thursday

Vampire Diaries: I want Bonnie to die. Katherine being back is awesome. More Damon too.

Nikita: This is a new series starring Maggie Q as a former assassin who is out to get the organization that trained her and killed her fiancé. Kick ass heroine.

The Office: I love Dwight. Jim and Pam are still cute. Still a good show.

Grey’s Anatomy: Christina and Owen got married. She freaked out b/c she was forced at gun point to operate on McDreamy. Meredith finally told her man she had a miscarriage.

Friday

Blue Bloods: This is the new family/cop drama starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg. I really enjoy it. There’s drama, there’s a secret society, there’s crime to be solved. It has it all. It’s good.

Saturday

Saturday Night Live: New cast members. Only 3 shows have aired so far and I have to say, Brian Cranston’s show was my fave so far, over Jane Lynch’s gig.

Sunday

Mad Men: There’s only one episode left. I’ve been kind of meh this season.
Sister Wives: This is a new TLC show about a polygamous family in Utah. I have so many issues with the whole set-up. Elch. And yet, I still watch it. LOL

So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight! Two hour of auditions - I can't wait!!

Also, the format is different this year. Some favorites from previous seasons are coming back! WOOT!

It's no secret that I'm a Friday Night Lights fan. I love this show, and again I have to give a big thanks to Wena for introducing it to me!! Wena's the best, isn't she? :P

So Season 3 ended with Coach Taylor losing his head coaching position with the West Dillon Panthers and taking the head coach position with the East Dillon Lions. He lost his job because he pissed off the up-and-coming quarterback's dad, who is rich and bribed everyone he could to get his son's personal coach the head coaching job. Nasty fella, I know we haven't seen the last of him. And the town got split - the haves and the have nots, basically. East is poor, West is not. And this is not more apparent then when Coach Taylor sees his new field.  It's a dust bowl.  The locker room is a mess, with a freaking raccoon living in one of the lockers.  LOL  And his new team is a mess.  They resist his authority, they talk back, they don't listen.  So Coach cleans house - and he's left with a rag-tag crew that want to make him proud.  One of them Vince, a young man in trouble with the law, and being on the football is his last chance before juvie.

Tim Riggins, basically in his first day of college quits. He doesn't get a warm reception at home because his brother's new wife is pregnant, and basically tells him there's no room for Tim. Tim gets drunk and hooks up with a bar tender.

Matt Saracen, instead of going to Chicago's Art Institute sticks around at Dillon Tech - where the art teacher puts his art down. He delivers pizza on the side and JD, the new quarterback for the Panthers insults him and they fight at a party.

Julie, Coach's daughter, well all her friends got transferred to East Dillon and she wants to join them. Despite the fact that Tammy (her mom and principal of West Dillon) say that East Dillon is equal to WD, her parents don't want her attending East Dillon.

First Friday night game, Coach forfeits during half-time.  His team has taken a beating and the players are injured.  How is this decision going to play out?

So that's Episode 1 of Season 4.  I can't wait to see how this season plays out!

Summer is over and with it is the onslaught of season premieres and new tv shows to check out. Here are the shows that we're looking forward to the most.

Wena

The old shows that I cannot wait for this coming season are:

One Tree Hill- It's going to be interesting to see how the season goes without the two main characters that the show was built around, Lucas and Peyton...WAHHH!

Fringe- I'm really interested in seeing if a romantic relationship between Peter Bishop and Olivia Dunnam grow. I'm hoping it will...eventually. I'm also really interested in seeing if Peter will ever find out Walter's big secret...or if Peter will ever find out that he died and that he's really from that alternate reality. This season has the chance to be really good. I can't wait to watch it.

Brothers and Sisters- Kitty and Robert are having marital problems and I'm anxious to see what happens with those two as well as seeing what happens with Kevin and the baby. Lots and lots of things to look forward to with this show.

New shows that I want to watch this fall:

Glee- I cannot wait for this show to come back on. I loved the pilot episode of this show and I can't wait to see what else this show has in store for us this coming season.

Cougartown- This is a new show that stars Courtney Cox and I'm really excited to watch this show because I think the guy thats in it is a cutie patootie and I love watching him on the small screen. I don't know his name but he's a cutie patootie. Josh Hopkins, that's his name.

Vampire Diaries- I am sooo going to watch this show. I may be on a paranormal hiatus while reading but not while watching T.V. I'm mighty curious about this show and I am so going to be tuning in each week to see this show play out. I can't wait!

NCIS Los Angeles- Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J on a NCIS Team? I'm so checking this show out. LL Cool J is an ex-Navy SEAL. Yeah, I'm watching.

Trauma- I wanna check this out because the guy from Whale Rider is on here.

Melrose Place- Alright, I'm curious...what can I say? I wanna check this out.

Three Rivers- This has sexy Mick from Moonlight so I'm tuning in just for him. It's a doctor show, I think I can dig it.

Shows that fell off my radar last season:

American Idol- The last season that I watched was the season that Jordin Sparks won. I stopped watching it after Jordin Sparks herself big timed me at the House of Blues. Don't have the desire to watch this show all that much.

90210- I started off watching this show faithfully but over the season, I lost interest...I'm not sure if I'll watch this show this fall.

The Office: At the end of last season, Pam found out she was preggo. WOOT! Jim and Pam are my faves on the Office, but really I love the whole cast. Kelly dancing, Creed stealing, Angela licking her cat, and Michael trying to be everyone's favorite boss.

Grey's Anatomy: Um...kind of forgot what's been happening. LOL But I still enjoy this show. Hopefully Izzy doesn't die.

So You Think You Can Dance - I watched this show faithfully over the summer, am currently watching the Canadian version and I'm still loving it.

America's Next Top Model - Never gonna get sick of this show. LOL It is my #1 guilty pleasure.

Gossip Girl - I found last season a bit tedious with the whole Dan/Serena/Blair/Chuck constantly breaking up and getting back together. Hopefully this season proves more interesting.

Newish shows (One season aired so far):

Parks and Recreation - Love love love Amy Poehler from SNL and I definitely felt there was some potential in the first season.

Dollhouse - Eliza Dushku is a fave actress of mine and this show is Joss Whedon. Good stuff all around.

Brand spanking new shows:

Vampire Diaries - I've been reading these books in preparation of the show. Should be interesting.

Melrose Place - I used to watch this show as a kid (how inappropriate was that? LOL) so I want to see how the latest batch will turn out.

Courgar Town - Courtney Cox Arquette, I'm a fan from friends. Hopefully this is more successful than Dirty.

Eastwick - As in the witches of...I love that movie, so the show should be interesting to see.

Shows that have fallen off my radar:

Desperate Housewives - have no clue what's going on and that's ok, I really hated Susan's character. LOL

I am currently watching Mad Men, SYTYCD Canada, True Blood (season finale this Sunday) and Hell's Kitchen. I do want to know when the 4th season of Friday Night Lights will be airing. I'd hate to miss out on the escapades of Dillon's finest.

Glee - Like Rowena, I loved the pilot. It makes me think of my choir days back in highschool.

Vampire Diaries... Although this is on the same time as Bones and CSI. Sooo it may be sacrificed... unless i can find a repeat at a later time.

Three Rivers, Mercy and the Good Wife look interesting.

It's not a new show.. but Joey and I have been watching the rereuns and so it's new to us this fall, Big Bang Theory.

Oldies but Goodies:

Grey's Anatomy - I just read Izzy is going to be gone for about 5 episodes. So i'm wondering how they'll write that in. I know she's not dead though.

Bones -I wondering what's going to happen with Brennan wanting Booth's baby. And are they are going to move closer to admitting their feelings for one an other?

CSI - I love CSI but it was kind of lagging last season. I hope it picks up. I heard Jorja Fox is returning. Which kind of annoys me cause Grissom left to be with her!!!!

Castle - One of my favorite new shows from last season. I hope it's just as good this season.

And my sunday night cartoon: Family Guy, Simpsons and American Dad.

Shows that fell off my radar,

Girls Next Door. I just don't think it'll be the same. Also, CSI was starting to fall... hopefully it picks itself up.

I don't know why, but I love this show so much. It's without reason. LOL

First of all, I have to thank Rowena for introducing me to this show. I caught the end of season 2 and was intrigued enough to see how Season 3 would play out. I loved it and decided I had to go back and see how it all began. Also, FNL was one of those shows that I always heard was really good but that was always facing the chopping block. I'm happy to say that Friday Night Lights is back for two more seasons.

So Friday Night Lights is about high school football, namely the Dillon Panthers and there's a wide range of characters. The main characters are Coach Eric Taylor, his wife Tami, their daughter Julie, and various players, from Tim Riggins (yum) to Matt Saracen (yum yum).

Season 1 starts with Coach Taylor as the new head coach. At his very first game as head coach, the star quarterback, Jason Street is in a horrible accident that leaves him paralyzed. Stepping into Jason's shoes to finish the game (and to win it) is Matt Saracen, an artistic fella who was happy to stay in Jason's shadow.

Jason had it all - he was going to a great college and he had the head cheerleader, Lyla Garrity as his girlfriend. When he got hurt, almost everyone stood behind him, except his friend Tim Riggins, another player.

Tim Riggins is the bad boy that all the girls love. Throughout the whole season I loved Tim's character. He's a sweet bad boy, which is a lethal combination in my opinion. He's not perfect, he can drink too much, he's not excelling academically, but if you need back up, he's there for you (unless you're Jason Street). There is tension between the two best friends and her name is Lyla. Lyla did a bad bad thing - and she comes off as such a goody goody. Bitch. LOL

Now back to Matt. Matt is such a sweetie. He's having to adjust really fast to being the new star quarterback and the center of attention. He's in charge of taking care of his senile grandma and he has a part-time job. A very responsible guy, Matt has a crush on the Coach's daughter, Julie. Let me tell you, I loved the way this played out. There's one episode where Coach has to bring Matt along to one of Julie's dance shows and the two men share quite the look, one guy wanting the girl and the other wanting to protect her. There was some excellent acting in that scene.

I'm not going to go further into all the characters because I could just go on and on. All I'm going to say is this, FNL is excellent and it features a wide range of excellent actors. There were some real touching scenes and I even cried at one of them. You really get caught up in this small Texas town and even though I'm not the biggest fan of football, I'm a big fan of FNL. Check it out!

Here is some of the eye candy from the show. I read a quote somewhere: "F*** Tim Riggins, date Matt Saracen, but marry the Coach." I agree with that quote. LOL

With Chuck MIA since his father's funeral, Uncle Jack arrives on the Upper East Side to help Chuck pick up the messy pieces, but first he has to find him. Trying her best to forget her last painful exchange with Chuck, Blair focuses her attention on being accepted into the most prestigious ladies club in the city, Colony Club. Jenny returns to Constance Billard and immediately takes on Penelope and her posse of mean girls, but no one is going down without a valiant Gossip Girl-worthy fight.

So I missed the show right before this one, and Bart Bass DIES. And it also came out that Lily had Rufus's love child and gave it up for adoption? What a pivotal episode to miss. CRAP!!
OOhhh, and Blair slept with Chuck's uncle?? WHAT?

Yeah, a lot went on in this latest episode.  The most dramatic being Chuck almost killing himself by falling off the roof of his reacquired burlesque club and Blair telling him she's there for him. Always.

The other interesting thing to happen was Jenny going back to school and coming up against Blair's cronies, namely Penelope.

The most ho-hum thing to happen yet again is Serena and Dan getting back together. Been there, done that. But now with the possibility of a sibling in existence, their new found love may be torn apart again.

So ABC debuted a new show tonight - True Beauty - a show about beautiful people who think they are being judged on their looks, but are really being judged on what's inside.  You know, beauty is skin deep and all that.  

The host is Vanessa Minnillo and the judges are Cheryl Tiegs and Nolé Marin.
True Beauty is the brain child of Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks.  Fierce.  LOL

The series will determine the True Beauty of six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a spectacular Los Angeles mansion as they undergo a series of challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful.

The gorgeous contestants assume they're being judged solely on their outer appearance. They're only half right; outer beauty is one component the judges are looking for, but contestants are also being evaluated -- unbeknownst to them -- for their INNER beauty as well when they're put through scenarios and situations that require them to make moral decisions.

Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants' behavior and eliminate one person each week. So did anyone watch it? I watched it, I'm intrigued. I admit it. LOL I see a new guilty pleasure looming on the horizon. :P

Ok, I've been watching this show all season and I need to weigh in on some things.

First of all - Izzy and Denny.

WTF????

I hate hate hate this storyline. Izzy and Alex were together, then a heart patient comes into the hospital and Izzy is now seeing and SLEEPING with Denny. He's a ghost. No one else can see him. And now stalker ghost is following deranged Izzy to the hospital and screwing up her job. (Although I did find Denny's reaction cute when Alex kissed Izzy.) And then Izzy showing up for the surgery at the last minute? What about the clinic? Does nobody notice her not doing her job? Hasn't she gotten into enough shenanigans in the past???

I have a theory about Denny the ghost. Writers' revenge on Katherine Heigl. Why? Oooh remember some comment she made about not having good material to work with so she doesn't deserve an Emmy nomination blah blah blah?? Yeah, I think this is payback because how the hell is Izzy gonna come back from f**king a ghost?

Second - Christina and Hunt

I am disappointed with this storyline. Why? In the season opener, Hunt was awesome! Then when he comes back, he's all distant and troubled by his experiences. That's ok, that's fine. But now he seems to be all better and here I thought Christina would have had to work to make him open up to her. Like she would have fought for him. So the disappointment stems from my own expectations. Also, I would have preferred more screen time for them. We’re just getting little snatches of stuff going on with them, so more would be better – in the case of this viewer.

Third – Lexie and Sloan

I so didn’t want these two to get where they were going. But after last night – I’m on board. Lexie is making Sloan a better person. And what woman doesn’t want the ability to change a man for the better? LOL So yeah, Sloan looked soooo tortured when Lexie was asking him to teach her. His body language (half turned away) just emphasized his conflict – he wants to do the right thing, but he can’t resist the girl. I loved the end – when he said he was bad. Oh yeah you are!

Fourth – Callie and the new intern, Sadie?

So they kick Erica’s character off the show but now they have Callie going after another chick? This really pisses me off because the only reason they kicked Erica’s character off the show was because she wasn’t “hot” enough for a lesbian romance. But this new girl is – so Callie is back to being a lesbian? Again I say – WTF? But still, glad they’re including a non-heterosexual storyline.

Izzy's take

Ok I am done with the Izzy/Denny ghost sex story line. I think it's dumb. DUMB I SAY! I found a spoiler about Izzy and Denny. Don't know if it's true but it's the only thing that can explain what is happening with her. Click here if you want to check it out. Even with that explantion, it's still a dumb story.

Anyways, Izzy is having fantastic ghost sex and doesn't even care about the solo surgery. So she doesn't even try to kiss Christina's butt.

Speaking of, Christina won the solo surgery but because of the interns playing operation on themselves, her punishment is to pick one of her peers. And since the interns are banned from the OR, the winner gets to pick someone to assist. Let the butt kissing begin. George was funny. Meredith got on my nerves. But Alex, he did make the best case. I just loved how he tried to kiss ass but couldn't cause it was Christina.

In the end Christina picks Alex. Yay Alex. By the way, I love his character now. The way he looked for Izzy and told her he loved her. *squee* I'm sucker for tortured heroes and Alex, in my opinion, fits the bill perfectly! I really hope whatever happens with Izzy it doesn't make him revert to the butthead he was.

I also loved they toned down Dr. Hunt. He was just too macho manly man for me. When he told Christina, "not here" when she was going to break down and cry and took her to the vent and distracted her from the solo surgery. I thought that was sweet. I felt bad for her losing the solo surgery cause she did deserve it.

What else... Lexie and Sloan. I'm on the fence with this one. I think Sloan needs a woman and a story but I don't know if it should be with lexie. I was really hoping for Lexie and George to hook up. We'll see how this goes.

As for Callie and Sadie, meh is how i feel about the story. I just don't buy it at all.

Dr. Dixon, don't really care for her either. (Ames - neither do I.)

So tonight's episode was the season one finale. It ends with a dead body in Andy Bellefleur's car. Which is where the second book picks up, so it's all good. It makes sense now that character Marianne being introduced the way she was. I didn't like that at first, but now it's all making sense. LOL

So that was interesting about Bill sacrificing himself to save Sookie - although it doesn't quite happen like that in the book. Overall, there were quite a few changes from the book that I really didn't like. I will say this though, I'm watching season two, if there is one (I haven't done my homework to see if this show is getting picked up or not). I'm enough of a fan to keep watching. Plus the opening credit song is just so catchy!

First of all, let me start by saying that Jenny is still annoying the crap out of me! She doesn't care who she steps on as long as she gets her way, and those are the same antics she was up to in Season 1. I'm glad she ran away. I hope she never comes back.

Onto the other characters - Serena remembers Aaron from camp - and everytime she runs into him or calls him, a different girl is around. So when she confronts him at the end of the episode he basically tells her to deal with it. LMAO!! Crap, if a guy I was interested in pulled that shizz with me, no matter how much chemistry was between us, I'd kick his ass to the curb. And Serena should totally do that, because she told Aaron in last week's episode that she wasn't dating right now.

And Blair, poor Blair. Almost outsmarted by a teener bopper out to deflower herself. Awww. I don't like Blair when she's insecure. She was all worried about getting into Yale.

Speaking of which, Dan's stories got rejected at Yale, so he decided to write Chuck's story. Next week looks very interesting.

So, we're on show 8. Gut check time, my friends. The show lagged a bit for me, but now that Sookie and Bill have consummated their relationship, this viewer is back in the game. LOL Also, I just read all the books back to back and I'm anxious for the next one to come out now. May, you are too far away. :(

Jason is hooked on V. Him and his latest friend, Amy, have kidnapped a vampire (after following Lafayette to its house). Sookie and Bill are hot to trot. (Eww scene though - they have sex as soon as he comes out of the ground and he's all muddy. Eww)

Tara and Sam are still being friendly. Tara has gone to the exorcist too. I will miss that part of Tara she's trying to get rid of. I always laugh at the outrageous things Tara says.

Ok, Sookie really pissed me off in this last episode. She really has an attitude on her and I don't like it. Mind you, everyone is judging her, but still. She's too defensive. And she's being a braggart about being with Bill. That doesn't seem...classy.

The guy who plays Bill is also in the latest People magazine. He's British. But I must admit, I like his accent in the show.

OOH, there was more Eric. He "hires" Sookie to find out who's stealing money from Fangtasia. I like Eric's arms...yum. But not his face.

Ok, it's episode three of True Blood and I think we need a gut check. What are your thoughts on this series so far?

I'm liking it so far although I don't like what happens with Tara and Sam. I guess this stems from how Sam is with Sookie in the books, so it kind of feels like a betrayal to me. LOL

Nothing big that's turning me off otherwise, I'm pleased with the pacing and like how Sookie seems to be in a jam at the end of every episode.

And I crack up at how Bill says Sookie. Sookie Sookie - She's mine!

And Sookie's all, HELL NO. Truly good stuff. And the theme song, I wanna do bad things to you. So raw.

Ok Rowena, I finally got around to watching the first two shows and what am I thinking so far?

I like it, although some things *cougholiviacough* bother me. LOL

On Friday, before I caught these episodes I had just finished reading a funny article on the top ten plot holes in movies. So yeah, I was super-vigilant when watching Fringe and I just need to get over myself basically. I like it, the whole Pattern thing is very intriguing and I can't wait to see where this series is going. Holes and all.

So the season premiere for True Blood aired tonight. I wasn't sure what to expect going in - I'm such a big fan of the books and you know how movies are never as good as the books - I was torn about a tv show.
I was surprised! The characters aren't what I pictured in my head, but I'm not disappointed with that. Anna Paquin, I didn't think she'd work as Sookie, but I think she's going to do a good job. She is talented. Stephen Moyer as vampire Bill - he grew on me by the end of the show. Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte? I don't know - I'm holding off judgement on him for now.

Things aren't exactly like the book, but that's ok. As long as Lafayette is around it's close enough for me. LOL

So this was the best part of the finale:


I wanted someone else to win, other than the one who did. But still, congrats to the winner.

Also, I seriously want to head back to Vegas and check out Believe. It's going to be AWESOME!!

Much has happened since the last time I posted about Hell's Kitchen. The first half of the season finale aired last night, and I'm glad to see my prediction about Christina being in the final 2 is correct.

Last night's show had an upset for Christina. Christina has won 9 challenges in a row - a first for HK - but last night, Petrozza, the catering chef, beat her signature dish with his own. The executive chefs from Gordon's restaurants were the taste testers. I thought for sure Christina would win. But that's ok.

Because I predict she's going to win top chef.

One of my top favorite tv shows ever starts tonight!!
