I'm a big Hugh Jackman fan and I've always loved the X-Men movies. So I've been anxious to see this movie ever since I heard it was being made.

From the very first X-Men movie, Logan, aka Wolverine, has had a mysterious past. We found out where the adamantine was added to his skeleton but we didn't know what led him to having that surgery. Those questions are answered in Origins. Logan was born in the 1800s and orphaned at a young age, along with his older brother Victor. The opening sequence of the movie takes us through quite a few wars (Civil, WWI, WWII and the Vietnam war) and Logan is fed up with the fighting. So he decides to settle down but his past comes back to haunt him and the woman he loves is killed. Off he goes to get vengeance and the person he is looking for is none other than his brother Victor.

What did I think? I loved it. Hugh Jackman anyone? LOL It's a good action-y movie that doesn't take itself seriously. Wolverine has a dark humour that I've enjoyed in all the movies. It was interesting to see about his past and there were some new characters - Gambit (Taylor Kitsch - yum!) really stands out for me.

So if you're a fan of the X-Men franchise, don't miss this. If you're not a fan of mutants, action sequences, claws, motorcycles, hot guys, etc. you can wait for the DVD. LOL

First of all, I have to thank Rowena for introducing me to this show. I caught the end of season 2 and was intrigued enough to see how Season 3 would play out. I loved it and decided I had to go back and see how it all began. Also, FNL was one of those shows that I always heard was really good but that was always facing the chopping block. I'm happy to say that Friday Night Lights is back for two more seasons.

So Friday Night Lights is about high school football, namely the Dillon Panthers and there's a wide range of characters. The main characters are Coach Eric Taylor, his wife Tami, their daughter Julie, and various players, from Tim Riggins (yum) to Matt Saracen (yum yum).

Season 1 starts with Coach Taylor as the new head coach. At his very first game as head coach, the star quarterback, Jason Street is in a horrible accident that leaves him paralyzed. Stepping into Jason's shoes to finish the game (and to win it) is Matt Saracen, an artistic fella who was happy to stay in Jason's shadow.

Jason had it all - he was going to a great college and he had the head cheerleader, Lyla Garrity as his girlfriend. When he got hurt, almost everyone stood behind him, except his friend Tim Riggins, another player.

Tim Riggins is the bad boy that all the girls love. Throughout the whole season I loved Tim's character. He's a sweet bad boy, which is a lethal combination in my opinion. He's not perfect, he can drink too much, he's not excelling academically, but if you need back up, he's there for you (unless you're Jason Street). There is tension between the two best friends and her name is Lyla. Lyla did a bad bad thing - and she comes off as such a goody goody. Bitch. LOL

Now back to Matt. Matt is such a sweetie. He's having to adjust really fast to being the new star quarterback and the center of attention. He's in charge of taking care of his senile grandma and he has a part-time job. A very responsible guy, Matt has a crush on the Coach's daughter, Julie. Let me tell you, I loved the way this played out. There's one episode where Coach has to bring Matt along to one of Julie's dance shows and the two men share quite the look, one guy wanting the girl and the other wanting to protect her. There was some excellent acting in that scene.

I'm not going to go further into all the characters because I could just go on and on. All I'm going to say is this, FNL is excellent and it features a wide range of excellent actors. There were some real touching scenes and I even cried at one of them. You really get caught up in this small Texas town and even though I'm not the biggest fan of football, I'm a big fan of FNL. Check it out!

Here is some of the eye candy from the show. I read a quote somewhere: "F*** Tim Riggins, date Matt Saracen, but marry the Coach." I agree with that quote. LOL

Despite what the critics say, I enjoyed Bride Wars. Anne Hathaway is a great actress and this was just a cute, funny movie. Can't wait to see it again.

Ok, here's the movie summary from Yahoo Movies:

Derek Charles, a successful asset manager who has just received a huge promotion, is blissfully happy in his career and in his marriage to the beautiful Beth. But when Lisa, a temp worker, starts stalking Derek, everything he's worked so hard for, are placed in jeopardy.

LMAO! That review is sooo wrong. First, Beyonce's character is named Sharon, not Beth. And Derek (the yummy Idris Elba) is the vice president of some company, there's no new promotion he's worried about.

Not that that makes any difference to the movie. So Derek Charles comes to work one day and there's a new temp...and she eventually makes her way to his desk, temping when his assistant gets sick. Sharon, Derek's wife, is a bit upset about this new temp - because they have a rule that her husband isn't to have any female assistants. Why? Oh I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that Sharon was an assistant before she scooped Derek up. So the girl knows what's going on. LOL The temp eventually goes psycho and thinks her and Derek are having a relationship when actually he rebuffs her at every turn. No one believes him though, even when people start getting hurt...

All right, I left a little cliffhanger there although anyone with two brain cells to rub together can figure out how the movie ends.

For some good cheesy fun, I can tell you to go check this movie out. Otherwise, wait for the DVD. It's not that it was bad, this movie was just OK.

It's been a little bit since I've seen this movie but I wanted to put up something since it's also been a really long time since I've written anything up for Boob Tube. I've neglected this place for far too long. Sorry guys!

Last month, I took my darling daughter to her doctor's appointment and then we spent the rest of the day together (ditching work and school) and we did a lot of Mommy/Daughter things. Like we went to the bookstore, HA! and bought books. She got a bunch of children's book and then I got a bunch of romance books (yay!) and then we had lunch together at my friend's restaurant and then we went to the movies and saw this movie.

I can tell you right now that this movie was too cute for words. I thought that The Rock played a swell cab driver Jack and this movie was a fun filled, action packed movie that is perfect for the kids. Brenna loved it. She gushed with her cousins about this movie after we left the theater and she wanted to see it again, she wants to own this movie on DVD and I agree with everything she had to say about it.

She thought that Seth was a cutie patootion. I thought so too. She thought it was a fun movie and so did I. We both thought that movie was fun, witty and wildly entertaining. The special effects made the movie pop (especially in the theaters) and the cast was great, the storyline was great and Brenna now wants to read the book so I have to find those books for her.

I would definitely recommend this movie to any of you guys out there looking for a good family movie to take the kids to. This one is definitely worth going to the movies and paying the money for though since it's been awhile since the movie came out, maybe you guys should just wait for DVD (dude, it's probably already out on DVD for all I know and pay attention) but I would definitely be owning this movie so you should too. =)
