In the year 2056--the not so distant future--an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants--for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo Men. In a world where surgery addicts are hooked on painkilling drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered young girl searches for the cure to her own rare disease as well as information about her family's mysterious history. After being sucked into the haunting world of GeneCo, she is unable to turn back, as all of her questions will be answered at the wildly anticipated spectacular event: The Genetic Opera
This was my husband's pick. We watched a preview of this on a different movie. Joey was intrigued so I netflixed it for him.
So if you receive an organ transplant, you best make your payments. If you don't, the repo man comes a calling to collect your organ. While you are still alive.
Shiloh has a blood disease and is kept locked in her room by her dad, Nathan. Shiloh thinks he's a doctor. No, he's a repo man. 17 years ago, he married Marni. Marni was supposed to marry the owner of Gene Co. When Marni got sicked, her jilted almost groom, poisoned Nathan's cure. Marni died. Nathan was able to save Shiloh though. But he lived on thinking he killed Marni.
The jilted groom ( his name escapes me) is dying. He doesn't want his kids to inherit his company so he sets his sights on Shiloh. But first he needs Nathan out of the way. He's still bitter about Marni marrying Nathan and all that.
Other stuff going on, Blind Mag is performing her last opera. However, her eyes are property of Gene Co. So after her performance, she knows a repo man is going to pay her a visit. So at the end of her performance, she gouges out her own eyes. Eww.
It wasn't as bad as Zombie Strippers. Some of the songs were kind of catchy. Like this one:
Yes, that is Paris Hilton trying to sing, "Grave robber..."
If you are bored and you see this on demand and there is nothing else, check this one out. Or if you are simply curious.
As for a grade... It wasn't horrible. I did kind of like it. It is between a D and C.
